On this Gaudete Sunday,
Mary’s Sunday,
as you remember the One who
birthed in her womb
Immanuel, God-with-us,
go deep
within,
to your core
where
life begins,
that place
in your womb,
and in the universe,
where
the
spark of life
ignites.
Here in this space,
feel how expansive it is,
how there is no fear,
or expectation…
only light,
and life,
and love.
Deep in the warm crevices,
tucked in the folds,
lean into and be embraced by
the pulses of life,
the breath of the Spirit,
the dreams of the Holy One.
Now let your tears flow,
tears from shame,
unmet expectation,
not being enough.
As the Beloved cries wtih you,
let Her holy tears
cleanse your tears,
that the joy of baptism
claims even
your womb
and the life
it has, and will,
bring forth.
Cast out our sin and enter in
Be born in us today.

Be blessed.
And be healed.
Rejoicing with Mary on this 3rd Sunday,
The Redbarn
Cathleen,
I love your poetry. When you speak of the space that is expansive I am reminded of how the “inner self” is neither male nor female, or perhaps is both male and female. That inner womb, spiritually, is something we all can go to, and cherish, and find rebirth.
